How to fix bulk citation reference failures

My bad, but.... I changed my Zotero "Active citation key formula" under the impression that this would only affect future citation keys. Silly me. Anyway at some point I re-expoorted my CSL json file, and I believe that it rebuilt citation keys for all my old items. Not surprisingly, but, now I have thousands of stranded citations in Zettlr files, and meanwhile I have created a number of Zettlr files based on the new citation key format, so I have a mix of citations that work and citations that don't work.

My questions include:

Is there likely to be an easy approach to fixing this problem?

Is there a way to use Zettlr (or grep) to find all broken citation references so I can iterate through them?

If Zettlr allows me to point to multiple citation database files, I could export a citation database in the old format, and export a citation database in the new format, and Zettlr would find my references in one or the other.

I think Zettlr does not support multiple citation database files.

I will create a feature request, or if one exists, I'll support it.
