I am able to install the Linux appimage on my Manjaro machine. As for the network drive issue, I tried adding Google Drive as a network drive in Nautilus (Gnome file manager) and can confirm that I am unable to open files in Zettlr that reside on Google Drive. I am able to see and browse the network drive in Zettlr's "Open" dialogue, but selecting an .md
file fails silently — no file opens. I get the same result when I browse to the file in Nautilus, right-click and select Open With Zettlr
.
I am able to open a workspace in Zettlr from the remote drive, but a) the folder name that appears in Zettlr's file manager is different from the folder name on Google Drive — Zettlr displays a long hash-looking directory name instead (1wGqryiS01OkZJ61v3uRixb9vMBtqCiZT
). And b) the workspace folder appears empty in Zettlr despite the actual Google Drive folder containing .md
files.
I know that Zettlr's file manager does not currently support soft links/simlinks and I suspect that something similar is going on here with its inability to see/open local representations of files on the network drive. But this last bit is pure supposition on my part.
I suggest filing a bug report and/or a feature request regarding this issue. Feel free to quote from my own attempt as described in this post.
