export to pdf thinks it's to html

I'm loving this application. Moved completely from Typora and even positron (I write books and blogs in quarto).

I have a large file which is plain markdown. I tested my flow with a smaller one and it exported to simple pdf just fine, preserving links. However, when I try to export the full version (152,000 characters) I get an error that says:

ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (-6) loading ~/path/filename.html

It's not html. It's .md.

If I load it into Typora and then export to pdf, it exports fine.

ideas? Seems like a bug of some sort...
