Hi, I've been using Zettlr for years (mostly happily), but there's one issue that has created a little bit of an unnecessary extra effort for me: linking files. I am using git to manage my big project folder, with the added advantage that I can read my Zettelkasten online in the web interface (I'm using gitea, but this is the same for github or anything else, really). It parses markdown nicely and turns links to links, but the resulting html links are missing the file endings, so they don't work.
I've been working around this by manually editing my links so they look like this:
[[id]]: [My Title](id.md)
But a few months ago I got lazy and accepted the suggested settings to use links like this:
[[id|My Title]]
It looks great in Zettlr and is obviously much more convenient to use, but of course now my links in the gitea web interface are broken. I did realize though that in principle it can handle wikilinks the other way around (which is configurable in Zettlr), but of course still only with file endings, i.e.: [[My Title|id.md]]
Now this is already more convenient to generate in Zettlr than my older solution, but I've been wondering whether there is a more elegant solution for this. Obviously, in my opinion, it would be a great feature if the automatic link generation was a bit more configurable so any of this could be created simply by linking the id (ideally even with file paths, so one can use folders – currently not a big issue for me), but maybe I have overlooked more trivial, already existing solutions for this? If anyone has something useful to share, I'd be grateful!
(I have tried to hack the system by including the '.md' in the ID configuration, but this did not work and is probably a bad idea anyway.)
