I've been using Zettlr for at least a year but prob more like three. When I first started I used the tutorial to better understand how to use this. I don't use Zettlr for professional work, just to help organize my notes and reference. Stuff like that. I find Linking ideas from varied, separate subject areas appealing. Over time I haven't been able to keep up with changes from updates so Im not sure if what I need help with is a feature or not. If not I would like to suggest they become features. None of what I use Zettlr for will ever be published, its more like a collection of notes/reference for me.
In a MD file I use the #, ##, ###, #### characters to create chapters. Thats what I call them at least. The amount of chapters in each MD file vary but the amount of information within the MD is always "extensive". I know I can use the Table of contents to jump around. I like to have all the "down arrows" to be Right "facing arrows". In other words "fold line". Id rather see only the Chapter headings when I first open a document. Then open only the ones I want. I would think that clicking a chapter in the table of contents would not "unfold" a line. Every-time I open one of my MD files I have to manually "fold line" for each chapter. It never stays "folded" Its incredibly frustrating. Also, I use images as well as text but important part to note here is all the chapter lines are open, as they are every time I open a MD file. Heres the bug part, if I just Leave them open and try to do my work when I try scroll down or just use the table of contents, click a chapter to get to a specific part and the (working area) page glitches out. by that I mean the MD work area scrolls down to the bottom and everything in my document looks blank. Nothing is actually gone its just not showing up. It stays "glitching out" until I close the document and reopen it.
Generally that "bug" almost never happens if I take the time to "fold line" on every chapter.
Even if I didn't get that "glitch" Id still prefer, when closing the document, the chapters stay exactly as they are next time I open them. By "exactly as they are" I mean chapters open or closed (fold line). lol for me they would remain folded upon closing the MD file.
Within One MD file I know how to link other MD files. But Id like to see this feature expanded upon. If theres a way I dont know how. By Expanded upon I mean this: Within one chapter in one MD File I may want to reference (link to) other chapters. Think of a web of links within a single document and across other documents. Not just one document linking to a different one.
I know within one document you can reference many other documents but you can only link it to the entire document. I want to be able to link a specific part of the document, and more than just once. Is this possible?
Sorry this couldn't be more succinct, I hardly knew how to describe what I'm asking. Thanks you.
