I saw an article in Linux Magazine about Zettlr. As I was struggling to organise/remember a wide range of technology related configurations (and find them for future use), I thought I would try it.
Shortly after beginning my Zettlr journey, it struck me: this tool is hugely useful for people with ADHD.
I did some digging to see what others may think. I only found one so-far

But I do know a couple of folk with ADHD and sent links; I'm looking forward to finding out what they have to say about it.
Zettlr and ADHD (Knowledge Management)
Zettlr, as a knowledge management tool, can be particularly helpful for individuals with ADHD. The Zettelkasten method, which Zettlr supports, allows for a flexible and interconnected way of organizing information that may suit the ADHD mind2. This system enables users to:
Link disparate ideas
Work on multiple interlinked projects simultaneously
Externalize thoughts into words, helping clarify scattered thinking
Features Beneficial for ADHD
Some features of Zettlr that may be especially useful for those with ADHD include:
The ability to create short, atomized notes (Zettels) representing individual thoughts or ideas
A hierarchical, alphanumeric categorization system allowing for infinite branching of notes
Hyperlink functionality to connect related concepts
ADHD and Technology
Many individuals with ADHD are drawn to technology-related fields:
- Software engineering and other tech roles are common among people with ADHD3
The ability to hyperfocus on interesting tasks can lead to high productivity in these areas
- While Zettlr isn't specifically designed for ADHD management, its flexible structure and support for interconnected note-taking may align well with the needs of some individuals with ADHD. However, as with any tool, its effectiveness will vary from person to person.
