Table behavior

I'm using the latest Zettlr version, Zettlr 3.6.0, with UIJID: 4fe38b10-4da4-49fO-b82a-7û231627e14f.
I'm experiencing some unexpected behavior when working with tables:

When I select a 2-row, 2-column table using the pop-up table menu, only 2 rows with 1 column appear. As soon as I type a letter or word in the first column, the second column is displayed after saving the file, close it, and reopen it.
It's striking that the table pop-up only displays half the number of selected columns.
Also striking is that the alignment character ':' is not included by default in the first two columns of a table.
When I add a footnote in a column, it displays correctly. However, when I save the file, the footnotes at the bottom of the page are saved, but not the footnote references in the table itself.

Are there any workarounds or planned bug fixes for those table behavior to work properly?

There is a rewritten table editor currently in the nightlies. It’s still a bit iffy, but already fixes a ton of issues with the old table editor.

Hendrick, good to hear that improvements are being made to the table editor. When will that version be available?

I did some further research and came across a casual observation in an AI result that Latex doesn't support footnotes in tables. This turned out to be not fully correct. The following method does work for footnotes in Zettlr at the page bottom : Add the text: 'Basic model\footnote{K-Nearest Neighbors: a simple, non-parametric method.}' without the quotation marks in a cell, and the footnotes entered this way will be displayed neatly numbered at the bottom of the page.

I installed Zettlr 3.6.0-nightly, and the incomplete row/column rendering issue is gone.

I have a note with something like 10 tables, and some text in between.

I am not sure if you are aware, but now, when you click in a table, the page view jumps to the bottom of the page, so you have to scroll back up to where the cursor is.

Furthermore, with any other text editing I want to do the page view also jumps to the bottom.

It is difficult to edit a note like this. A normal text note does not display behavior like this.

Table keyboard shortcuts arrow-up and arrow-down don't work either.
