Zettlr 4 Flatpak not openning since update : "Failed to sync with dbus proxy"

Hi,
Since today, my Zettlr has been updated to v4 via Flathub, on my Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. I can't open it anymore. When I try to open it via the terminal to see the error messages, here is what I got:

Anyone got a clue on how to resolve this issue? I tried to tinker with Flatseal settings, but without success...

Does v3.6 still work as expected? If so something might’ve gone wrong during the packaging step.

Short update, I just saw a PR getting merged into the Zettlr flatpak repository: flathub/com.zettlr.Zettlr/pull/61

If I remember correctly, the dbus is a part for routing display data, so that may be the correct fix for your problem.

I’ve now asked the flathub maintainer and they said the following:

The issue seen is not the x11/wayland issue. The dbus thing is a red Herring so to speak. All electron apps past a point try and access the system dbus instance on start up. Its a noisy fall through to the user bus. So the issue is actually in electron on Wayland and certain GPU setups. --disable-gpu or --ozone-platform-hint=x11 should fix it.

Does their suggestion fix your issue?

I removed the flatpak, redeployed the most recent version and tried to start zettlr with the parameters.

--disable-gpu : worked, zettlr 4.0.0 started and fully opened
--ozone-platform-hint=x11 : did not work

ps.: as I am on KDE, i searched for Zettlr in the startmenu, right clicked the icon, choose "edit application" and added "--disable-gpu" at the end of the command-line arguments, clicked save.

now it automatically starts with --disable-gpu and I dont have to start it manually with console. it automatically worked with my shortcut which was pinned to the taskbar.
