Hi,
I am currently familiarizing myself with Zettlr and have the following question:
When I create a new file, a unique ID is suggested as the file name. This is perfectly fine as long as I am working within Zettlr, since the title is displayed in the file manager. However, if I want to open an MD file created in Zettlr on my mobile devices, the ID is of little use, as it does not reveal anything about the content of the file. That's why I add a descriptive text to the file name when creating it. For example, “20260108184620|descriptive text.”
In my file manager and on my mobile devices, the file name then appears as “20260108184620 - descriptive text.”
As long as there is no Zettlr app for mobile devices, I don't see any other option.
I would be interested to know if any of you have found a better way.
In the Zettlr settings, I have selected the following options:
- File manager/Display document names: Title or first heading if available.
- Advanced/Pattern for new file names: %id.md
I use Zettlr on my Apple computer.
Many thanks in advance,
Helmut
