Since Zettlr uses CodeMirror, can it use CodeMirror add-ons or themes?

Thanks. Can users implement these individually, or do they have to be put into Zettlr as universal features? If the former, can you point me towards how I could learn to do this?

Well, it depends like so many things in life

Basically three things:

1. There are built-in plugins that can be activated or de-activated. Have a look here: https://codemirror.net/doc/manual.html#addons
2. We can also build custom plugins that do not ship with CodeMirror. Examples are the AutoCorrect plugin and the Markdown rendering modules. You can find them here: https://github.com/Zettlr/Zettlr/tree/master/source/renderer/assets/codemirror
3. Themes is also something both built-in and externally available. Zettlr does not use the built-in themes, but some custom ones. Have a look in the less files for examples of how the styling is done: https://github.com/Zettlr/Zettlr/blob/master/resources/less/theme-berlin/light/codemirror.less
