We are currently planning to migrate to a different platform for the forum. We will announce this fact both here and on Twitter, once we have settled on a solution.

Link papers to Zotero

Zotero can be made to open and select a specific entry from a URL like zotero://select/items/0_9KICUICZ.
Thus it should be possible to have Zettlr have clickable links for references like @Luhman1981 which would then open the corresponding entry in Zotero.

I guess we would need to add the corresponding links to the CSL JSON library. This should not be difficult since Zotero allows custom translators and we could easily build upon

@hendrik I could take care of the Zotero-translator, but would need help for the Zettlr side. Is this something you would be interested in adding?

  • I think I may even have a better idea with no changes necessary to be made to the bbt-translator: https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues/769

This way we could just implement the zotero-links and open them through the citekeys. We just would need to rely upon Zotero handling edge cases (such as duplicate citekeys or nonexisting plugin).

  • Oh very cool! I wasn't aware of that, but that is even better, I agree. :+1:
