Cannot display images from network drive

Hello,
when I reference images with relative paths from a network drive Zettlr says it cannot find them, but when I click on the "open image externally" button the image is found sucessfully.

I also tried changing / to \, same result
I also tried absolute paths, but then even the open image externally button doesn't work any more.
The path looks something like this
\\argos.storage.uu.se\MyGroups$\Folder\fig\image.png

Other Markdown viewers like GhostWriter open the images without any issues

Is that a known issue?
Any suggestions?

This is likely related to this previous thread. I don't think Zettlr can open any files on a network drive (but your external file manager can, hence the difference you noticed). My presumption is that it has to do with Zettlr not supporting symlinks/soft links, but I'm not sure.

It seems to still be related to this problem.

While they apparently have solved it for absolute paths, it does not seem to be working with relative paths.
